Welcome to my review of MJJC Foam Cannons, where I will explore the features and performance of these top-tier tools for automotive detailing.
In automotive detailing, a foam cannon is a crucial tool that attaches to a pressure washer to create a thick, clinging soapy foam, also called
snow foam. This foam encapsulates dirt and grime, making it easier to rinse away without direct contact.
Automotive detailing enthusiasts aim to touch the vehicle as little as possible to avoid marring or swirling the paint.
By using a foam cannon, they can pre-soak the vehicle with foam, lifting contaminants off the surface.
This minimizes the need for physical scrubbing, significantly reducing the risk of scratches and paint damage.
The foam provides a lubricated barrier between the dirt and the paint, allowing for a safer and more efficient wash process.
Additionally, the even coverage of foam ensures that all areas of the vehicle are adequately cleaned, enhancing the overall
effectiveness of the detailing process.
Detailers often prefer thick, sticky foam over wet, runny foam.
Thick foam clings to the vehicle's surface longer, allowing the cleaning agents more time to break down dirt and grime.
This extended contact time improves the cleaning process and provides better lubrication, minimizing the risk of scratches during washing.
However, some detailers, even if to a lesser extent, prefer runny, wet foam because its heavier consistency can help drag dirt down off
the vehicle's body panels, aiding in the removal of contaminants without the need for scrubbing.
Benefits:
Using a foam cannon in automotive detailing offers several benefits:

Two Process Types:
In automotive detailing there are two main types of foaming:
A) Pre-Rinsing with Foam:
Purpose: The goal of pre-rinsing with foam is to loosen and lift surface dirt and grime before the main wash. This step helps reduce the risk of scratching the paint during the wash process.
Foam Characteristics: For pre-rinsing, a foam that clings well to the surface is ideal. This allows the cleaning agents time to work on breaking down contaminants.
Soap Types: Use a foam-specific pre-wash or snow foam soap.
This can be either Acidic for removing mineral deposits, water spots, and brake dust OR Alkaline which is more effective for heavy-duty cleaning, such as removing grease, oil, road tar or film.
These are formulated to produce thick, clingy foam that effectively loosens dirt without necessarily providing a high level of lubrication needed for direct washing.
B) Washing with Foam:
Purpose: The main wash involves using foam to directly clean the vehicle's surface after the pre-rinse has removed the majority of loose contaminants.
Foam Characteristics: For washing, the foam should be both lubricating and effective at suspending and removing dirt.
Soap Types: Use a high-quality pH-Neutral car wash soap designed for use with foam cannons. These soaps create rich, lubricating foam that helps safely lift and remove dirt while washing, minimizing the risk of scratching and being gentle on waxes, sealants and ceramic coatings.
Both of these types contribute to a thorough and safe cleaning process, ensuring your vehicle’s paint remains in excellent condition.

They sell a host of replacement parts on their website to ensure it continues performing optimally such as:

As you will see in the video review at the very bottom of this page, the foam that both of these cannons produce is industry leading.
Very thick with long dwell time. The cannons are easy to fill with soap and water due to the large opening at the top.
Their wide bases are very stable. They look to be very durable and are servicable with readily available parts.
I do not hesitate to recommend MJJC products.

When I was using my Karcher pressure washer, a low gallons per minute (1.35gpm) type, I swapped out the factory installed 1.25 orifice for the
included 1.1 orifice size, as it produces more foam for these types of pressure washers.
The smaller orifice size will increase the pressure and make the pressure washer work a bit harder, drawing more amperage from your
electrical circuit. I re-wired my garage to have 20amp circuits, which is best for pressure washing rather than standard 15amp service.
With the Karcher 2100ps I had no issues.
When upgrading to the Active 2.0 pressure washer, I have swapped back to the 1.25 orifice size as Active does not recommend anything smaller
than that otherwise you risk overworking their pressure washer pump.

As with the MJJC Foam Cannon S V3.0, the results you get from this foam cannon is unbelievable...thick, rich foam with long dwell time
giving you plenty of time to get around the vehicle and perform your contact wash without all the foam running completely off the vehicle.

After using the MJJC snow foam shampoo in both these cannons, we found that the foam produced was indeed thick and rich as promised.
My preference is to use a ph neutral soap such as this to prolong the life of my wax. I have not noticed any deterioration to the protection
nor to the shine of my vehicle.

In conclusion, MJJC's foam cannons, the Foam Cannon S V3.0 and Foam Cannon Pro V2.0,
are standout products in the automotive detailing market. They deliver superior foam thickness and longevity,
providing excellent cleaning power with minimal effort.
I particularly appreciate the solid brass components, easy spin on - no wrench needed - type connection fitting, and stability of these cannons.
The variety of fitting options ensures compatibility with many different pressure washers, making them versatile and user-friendly.
Their construction is durable and their performance is highly effective.
I highly recommended MJJC foam cannons for a top of the line, professional, swirl-free wash.
I cannot say that one of the two iterations is a particular standout over the other. They both produce incredible quality foam.
It will simply come down to a matter of preference for which one you want to purchase.
Pro V2.0 bottle is probably more durable but S V3.0 is easier to read the measurements and see the liquid inside.
Pro V2.0 bottle has a larger mouth, but S V3.0 has the 1/4 quick turn feature.
Pro V2.0 bottle has a lower center of gravity and larger base, but S V3.0 happens to match my Blue pressure washer theme perfectly.
Both use a lot less soap than other in order to get maximum foam production.
