The Active 2.0 was specifically designed with the automotive detailer in mind, and in practice it delivers a very well balanced combination of pressure and flow for this application. While the advertised specifications with the included 3.7 orifice nozzles suggest operation in the 900 to 1000 PSI range at approximately 2.0 gallons per minute, my own testing showed some variation worth noting.
Using the included 40 degree 3.7 nozzle, I measured approximately 875 PSI at 12.40 amps, which suggests that their nozzle may behave closer to a slightly larger effective orifice, likely a 4.2. Stepping down to a 3.5 nozzle brought pressure up to around 1000 PSI at 13.05 amps, while a true 4.0 nozzle (my preference) measured about 900 PSI at 12.55 amps. These results align well with Active’s guidance to stay within the 3.5 to 5.0 range to remain under the recommended 15 amp draw while maintaining safe operation of the internal components.
For foam cannon use, the recommended 1.25 orifice continues to be the optimal choice. It provides excellent foam production while keeping the machine within a safe operating range. A 1.1 orifice will increase restriction and can push current draw into the 19 to 20 amp range, which may overwork the internal microswitch and capacitor over time and place unnecessary strain on the electrical circuit.
In my foam cannon testing using a 1.25 orifice, the Active 2.0 produced consistent and repeatable results across multiple cannons.
The MJJC Pro 2.0 measured approximately 1000 PSI at 13.35 amps,
the MJJC S V3.0 reached about 1100 PSI at 14.10 amps,
and the MJJC Pro 3.0 measured around 1025 PSI at 13.60 amps.
These results demonstrate that the machine maintains strong pressure while remaining within a safe electrical range,
even when paired with higher performance foam cannons.
Foam characteristics were consistent with what would be expected and optimal from a premium unit,
producing a very thick foam with optimal dwell and surface coverage rather.
I find the foam produced from my Active 2.0 with foam cannons using a 1.25mm orifice actually better than other more expensive and
higher flow pressure washers such as the Active 2.3, Active 3.0 and AR635 which need larger foam cannon orifice sizing.
In real world use, this pressure washer stands out due to its higher flow rate compared to typical entry level units. The additional flow is immediately noticeable and results in significantly faster rinsing and more efficient washing overall. Combined with its compact size, it fits very well into a wall mounted or shelf based setup without taking up much space.
Overall, the Active 2.0 represents an excellent balance of price and performance. It delivers strong real world results, pairs very well with a 1.25 foam cannon orifice, and remains one of the more well rounded options available for automotive detailing enthusiasts looking to step up from entry level equipment.
As for hoses, Active says the preferred hose type and length is steel braided rubber hose under 100' in length.
Non-steel braided hoses may expand under pressure and prevent the pressure washer from reaching its peak pressure.
The Uberflex hose is non-steel braided type. The MTM Kobrajet and Tutuluk hoses are single wire steel braid offering strength,
lightweight and flexibility, I highly recommend them.
The additional flow on this pressure washer over your entry level machines is a very noticable difference and makes for much
quicker rinsing. The size of the machine itself is much smaller too making for a more compact setup on my limited shelf space.
Please note that in 2Q 2026, Active introduced an updated version of this unit, the 2.0 C1 (SE01C1).
It appears to run at 25 PSI lower than the Original 2.0 model while drawing about 1 additional amp.
Keep in mind the PSI may slightly increase after an extended break-in period.
Most notably, Active now recommends a 1.35 foam cannon orifice for this model, reflecting the increased electrical load compared to the
original version.

The first thing I did with the Active 2.0 was to shorten the factory 35 foot electrical cord.
If you are going to shelf mount this, as I did, the cord is simply to long and unsightly.
Personally I need only 10 feet in length to get to my electrical outlet. I happen to have a 20amp GFCI outlet, but the cord has
its own GFCI already built in and this pressure washer is designed to run on a 15amp circuit.
Shortening the length makes for a nice and neat cord routing when the pressure washer is sitting on the shelf in the garage where
it is most used, while still having an ample length for outdoor use in which I have outdoor GFI outlets mounted on the exterior walls
of each corner of my home at 2-3 feet off the ground. This also leaves me with a nice 25 foot long electrical cord to repurpose for
use around house, although it is only 2-wire as opposed to the nicer 3-wire cord the Karcher pressure washer came with which I
shortened as well.
To shorten the cord I typically open up the GFCI plug end via the 4 philips head screws and remove the wiring there.
The screws on the Active GFCI didnt seem to fit any of my phillips screwdrivers well enough to avoid striping them out,
so I opened the pressure washer case to see if it would be easier to proceed from that end of the cord.
This revealed crimp on flag type right angle connectors being used rather than screw in connectors as I had hoped.
While I did have these connectors on hand, I decided that it may be best to shorten from the GFCI end.
As I anticipated, the screws were difficult to remove and one ultimately stripped out. This stubborn screw required drilling and
extraction to remove. Once the GFCI case is opened you can easily remove the cord strain releif and loosen the screws holding
the Hot-Black and Neutral-White wires in place. Again, there is no Ground-Green wire in this setup. From there just cut back the
cord to the desired length then cut back the cord insulation, strip the wires, and tin the ends using a soldering iron and
rosin core solder for a solid factory type connection.

Unlike many other brands of pressure washers, Karcher models run at very close to advertised specs of 2,100psi and 1.2 gallons per minute.
This is using the provided stock nozzles that have an orifice size of 1.4.
I tested the pressure with these 1.4 nozzles and it measured 2,000psi.
The swirling turbo nozzle measured 900psi and worked very well for cleaning concrete.
This is a lot of pressure and is great for hosehold chores such as cleaning sidewalks, driveways, patios, decks, BBQs, patio furniture, house siding, gutters, etc.
But, for optimal automotive detailing we want to run the pressure washer at around 1,000psi and have as much flow as the machine can possibly provide.
To accomplish this we need to change the nozzles being used to a larger orifice size which will decrease pressure and increase flow.
Please see the "Nozzle" section of this article below for more details on that process whereas I upgraded to nozzles with a 2.5 orifice.
I shortened the factory 35 foot electrical cord down by about half to a more manageable length of 16.5 feet.
This made for nice and neat cord routing when the pressure is sitting on the shelf in the garage where it is most used,
while still having a useful length for outdoor use in which i have outdoor outlets mounted on the exterior of each corner of my home.
This gave me a nice 18.5 foot long 12gauge 3-wire electrical cord to use around the garage once I added
a pair of replacement extension cord ends...male plug and female connectors NEMA configuration 5-15P and 5-15R.
To accomplish this I opened up the GFCI plug end of the cord via the 4 philips head screws and removed the Hot-Black, Neutral-White
and Ground-Green wires. Then I cut the cord to the length needed so I could neatly route the cord to the nearest outlet when
it is sitting on its allocated shelf space. I re-tinned the ends of the wire with solder to match how the original
installation was done for a solid connection.

After 1.5 years of use

When I initially got into pressure washing, this is the first hose I purchased to replace the hose that comes with the pressure washer.
The factory hose that comes with the Karcher pressure washer, as with nearly all pressure washers, is not only too short but is also
too stiff to maneuver comfortably and it kinks very easily making it very hard to work with and move around as they have wind up memory and do not roll out flat.
They will eventually fail at this kink or pressure point.
The Uberflex hose is super pliable and easy to work with.
It is a bit tedious to roll up nice and neatly, but also a little to short to invest in a hose reel.
It is best for portable pressure washer solutions.
You will most definetly want to upgrade your hose to something that is longer, lightweight, more flexible and kink resistant.
If you want an uberflex hose but in a different color than the matte blue I have purchased, you can sometimes find it in black and less often in red.
Additionally, the green Flexzilla pressure washer hoses use the same patent as the Uberflex and perform similarly.

MTM Hydro's Premium 5,000 PSI Pressure Gauge is now paired with the Stainless top-mount Gauge fitting to effectively measure running pressure and catches spikes that occur when your gun trigger is released or engaged. Use your assembled gauge to measure baseline PSI and compare against baseline at later dates for accuracy.
A primary fixed location is most commonly found immediately after the pump or on an unloader port to measure 'Pressure at the Pump' and catch pressure spikes.
This location will also alert you of cavitation in the pump that you may not hear or feel – the needle on the gauge will bounce and appear to be trembling.
A second, temporary position is at the base of the spray gun for intermittent checking of pressure to ensure your nozzle does not need to be replaced.
This will also catch pressure spikes and alert you of pressure changes over time as your nozzle enlarges due to wear.

I intend to primarily use the Karcher K2100ps pressure washer in the garage for vehicle washing duties.
As such I will keep it on a shelf without the wheels or push handle installed.
I also have a 100' garden hose mounted to a Rapid Reel hose reel inside the garage as well.
To facilitate getting water to both the 100' garden hose as well as the pressure washer with 50' hose,
I installed a 3/4" brass 2-way Y-Splitter with individual shutoffs at the garage spigot.
I will also move it outside as needed for exterior household cleaning chores.
When doing so I will connect the pressure washer to a second garden Rapid Reel hose reel with 130' hose I have located outside
at the rear of the house. To make this process simple and easy I purchased additional quick disconnect fittings.
Also I remove the outside hose reel in the winter and store it in the garage at which time I blow out both hose reels with
compressed air to winterize. These additional QD fittings will help facilitate all that and make the job much quicker and easier.

In my budget setup I am using a brass Y-Splitter to select between my garden hose and pressure washer
In my prosumer setup I am using a Nickle Y-Splitter to select between my bucket filler and pressure washer.
The Nickel is used to more closer match my stainless steel fittings.
The Brass Garden Hose 90 Degree Elbow Connector is to allow for more compact routing of the garden hose leader and free up
space on shelf to left of pressure washer.
The Langina 304 Stainless Steel Garden Hose 90° Swivel Elbow Connector does the same thing as the brass elbow but in a more compact size and
matching stainless steel color. I also used two of these at the Y-Splitter to get the shorter stainless leader hoses to make the
necessary turn downward without a large arc. They also allow for the bucket filler hose to move around and angle into the bucket.

While the Karcher pressure washer comes with its own turbo nozzle, the Active 2.0 does not. This nozzle is the best for

I purchased this fitting set in order to get the M22 Male to 3/8" QD Plug.
I am using this on the Active 2.0 20 foot hose so that I can connect that hose to the 100 foot main hose on my reel
and extend it to reach further.
With this extension in use, I can now reach the furthest parts of my property for the infrequent occasion in which I need to

For reference: 40025 translates to 40° size 2.5 orifice.
Every pressure washer is unique, each having its own PSI (Pressure per Square Inch) and GPM (Gallons Per Minute) rating.
These two factors dictate the orifice size that is perfect for your pressure washer.
Use these two ratings from your pressure washer manual/label in our nozzle calculator to choose the correct size for you.
This will prevent backloading your pressure washer and damaging your machine.
It will also ensure you are retaining the right amount of pressure to use all your accessories properly.
The Karcher 2100 pressure washer is advertised to run at 2,100psi and 1.2 gallons per minute.
Real world performance shows that it operates at very close to those specifications, I measured 2,000psi with the Karcher supplied 1.4 size nozzles.
While this pressure is great for hosehold chores such as cleaning sidewalks, driveways, patios, decks, BBQs, patio furniture, house siding, gutters, etc.,
for optimal automotive detailing we want to run the pressure washer at around 1,000psi and have as much flow as the machine can possibly provide.
To accomplish this we need to change the nozzles being used to a larger orifice size which will decrease pressure and increase flow.
At first I tried the 3.0 nozzle size but that showed pressure of 700psi on my gauge.
So then I tried the orifice size 2.5. This size showed pressure of 900psi on my gauge and is the size recommended by Obsessed Garage and what I have decided to use.
Flow with the 2.5 orifice nozzle size is around 1.35pm.
